Why are you wanting them to leave? And have they been there for awhile?
Just tell them it's time to go home. Or use the bartenders trick. "You don't have to go home, but you can't stay here."
If they're really friends, they could figure this out on their own, or when you tell them to leave, they wouldn't have a problem with it.
