The BBC links are good, should have everything you really need to know. Uncircumcised men are more likely to get it, but note that the sites don't offer circumcision as a solution because it's not needed and doesn't make one immune to getting it later.

it is more common in uncircumsized men, can be transmitted via sexual intercourse. if you think that you have it, and you are a female, you will both need to be treated in order to clear it up. it is just a simple antibiotic. in men it ususally causes redness on the tip of the penis, burning during intercourse and urination. sometimes small white patches can be seen on the male penis. other times they don't even know they have it. good luck
