Sports aren't scripted. They are basically people playing a game and being filmed. Is this a form of reality TV?

But sports occur live.

Reality TV already occurred (e.g. Big Brother All Stars) so something which already occurred will tend to be scripted, ad hoc, etc.

NO!!! Sports are actually real. Real people, real futures and real winners and losers. The only real winners of reality shows are the networks and producers. Reality shows are all scripted and edited anyway. People used to think Jerry Springer was a reality show...Those shows should never be compared to sports unless the sport is Boxing.

That is a good poser.

True, we bring together a bunch of people in a confined area to see who is the best, and with a lot of the rules, people aren't necessarily voted out (although they can get ejected).

Hmmmmmmm............. this requires some extended thought

The contender, UFC, and wrestling are all great examples of reality TV.
