I loved Johnny Tremain. It gives an adolescent's view of the revolution, but not in a preachy or dogmatic way. I highly recommend it. Esther Forbes also wrote a biography of Paul Revere, and she based much of Johnny Tremain in historical fact.

Johnny Tremain, by Esther Forbes, he's not a blacksmith's apprentice though, he was apprenticed to a silversmith.

Yessir, Johnny Tremain by Esther Forbes. A very boring, drawn out book. I do not suggest it at ALL.
