The older people get, the more they think for themselves. When we are children, we tend to want to do, look and act like our peers. As we mature, we grow out of this. When we become adults, we begin thinking for ourselves. While we may never completely stop listening to our friends and relatives, we will become more and more independent as time goes on.

When I was a girl, I wanted to be just like all the other girls. When I was a teenager, I wanted to be part of the crowd. By the time I was a young adult, I was developing my own styles. Now that I am the mother of grown children, I see that my own off-spring have gone through the same steps as I did to becoming an adult.
