My mother passed away years ago. Does the new wife get a title, officially? She's not technically a stepmom, I don't think.....

Sorry to hear about your mother, so I guess your step-dad continued to raise you? You must have a close relationship with him, most people would probably bail for not being the biological figure. In time maybe you will have the same relationship with this woman. Until then call her what you want for there is no real title for her, possibly just friend.

Technicalities aside, if you like her and she is in your life, I'd call her a step-mom.
You really didn't say how close you and your step-dad are but I am assuming that you are pretty close or it probably wouldn't be an issue. She would probably like it and it is a hell of a lot easier than "my step-dad's new wife." I don't know that I would address her as mom or anything, but I would introduce her to others as my step-mom.

If your stepdad adopted you, I guess she would be your step mom. But, realistically I don't think she would insist on a title.
Why don't you just refer to her by her name?

(Sorry for your lost) If your step-dad took on the the role to be a father to you after your mom passed away. His titled should be your dad...and if he gotten remarried since then his wife title to you should be step-mom.

She is your stepmom. That's her title. If you don't want to call her that, is completely up to you. Just like you never have to call her mom if you don't want her to. If your dad would you prefer you call her at least your stepmom, tell him how you feel about it.

Her title would be your stepmom. You could also call her your mom or her first name, depending on your comfort level.
