I know an employer that takes away time and that makes his employees stay off the clock when the restraunt is not busy . Is this allowed and what do i do about it? thanks everyone.........I live in ohio.

No that is not legal. That person can get seriously in trouble for that. If it is a corporate business call human resourses office and let them know. If no corporate then call the labor office and report them. I cant believe the managers of this business they pay their employees nothing anyways why would he do this.

I don't think it is illegal. Dumb, yes, but not illegal. If I were those employees, when they do go off of the clock, leave the premises. Once they are off the clock there is no reason for them to stand around waiting to get busy again, so leave. When the empoyer is the only one there to service the customers, that attitude may change.

No, run a search on Labor Laws. Report him to the Department of Labor(start at your local gov.)
