Water falls. Very romantic. It's hard to have a nice picnic with your honey in front of a water fountain.

Easy. Fountains take pressure to exist. Drop or take away the pressure and they fail.
Water however will always seek the lowest point and will get there by gravity which does not fail.
Therefore water fall wins hands down!!!

water falls. You have to keep up on a fountain (keep it cleaned and all) to make it look beautiful. Nature keeps a water fall looking gorgeous all on it's own.

I've always wanted to put bubble bath in a public fountain. You know the ones in front of snobby apartment buildings. I think it would be fun to watch the reactions.

Definitely the waterfall. I have seen some ugly fountains…but never an ugly waterfall.
