I am not sure why it annoys you so much. There are several names that are spelled in different ways. Like mine is Cristina, most people spell it Christina or Kristina. I have only run into a couple of people who spell it the same way as I do. And I have seen several people who spell their names Rodger instead of Roger.

As a rule I try to not let names get to me. People spell names all sorts of ways. I have seen Roger spelled this way and I have seen it spelled with a d in it. Names are names and everyone has their own way to spell things. For example my child's middle name is Rae. Not Ray. We wanted to be different.

Rodger doesn't look like a correct spelling for USA, but some of the names people give their kids now would frighten you!

Kind of like Stephan for Steven. Makes no sense. Normally the "ph" sounds like an F, so you would want to pronounce Stephan like "Stef-an." Not so. 'Tis pronounced like Steven.
Names are great like that though...it adds variety. Names don't have to be the same across the board. My name is Michelle,...traditional spelling, but I worked with a woman whose name was spelled Machel.
Another example is the name Megan. It can be spelled so many different ways but the most unique I've seen was my best friend's spelling, Maigan.

Rodger is the way they or their parents have decided to spell it. Is it any different than Cindi with and "i"....it all depends on the individuals preference.
Have a nice day.

I guess they do it because Roger rhymes with Dodger so they assume it is spelled the same.
People slaughter all kinds of names. I spell my name Angela - pretty simple you would think but they always try to put an I in it like.. Angelia....UGH!
