I want to say Nottinghill because it has that great line: "I'm just a girl standing in front of a guy asking him to love her.", but; I have to go with a classic, "The Great Gatsby", the story of a man who shaped his whole life around the pursuit of one woman who in the end was not what he imagined her to be. It may not be the best love story on film, many will argue that "Love Story" is that, or "Romeo and Juliette", I like those both. Younger people will tell you "The Note book" or "Titanic", probably because they are too young to remember "Gone with the Wind", "Casablanca", "The Way We Were", "Gigi", "Barefoot in the Park", "Breakfast at Tiffany's", "Dr Zhivago", "Butterflies ar Free", or "Same Time Next Year." I have a fair sized video collection so I have seen so many Romance movies that I have to look for something more to a movie than boy meets girl, boy loses girl, boy gets back with girl. "The Great Gatsby offers you that, an insight into a time when men like Gatsby rose from nothingness to great wealth and power seemingly overnight but only because they dedicated themselves to achieving their dream. Sadly his dream was a mirage in more ways than one. Hope you enjoy it.

What Dreams May Come. It is a little different and goes into the ideas of true soul mates and reincarnation. It shows both grief and love. I thought it was a very beautiful movie.

Garden State or Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind. Movies in general don't get much better than those two.

Pride and Prejudice, The Notebook, A Walk to Remember, Sliding Doors, The Lakehouse. Great acting and writers who try to intentionally tear your heart out, and it works.

I just watched The Notebook, it was fabulous. I cried like a baby. That would have to be my favorite. It used to be Hope Floats with Sandra Bullock and Harry Connick,Jr. That is a good one too.
