Anyone Fed-up with the amount of adverts on tv/radio.. on tv, you just get into the programme, and they cut for adverts.... ITV is the most annoying one.. seems to be every 5 minutes... and i give up on radio, Magic/heart... adverts all the time... Maybe, if we boycott these stations, they would do something about it..?

I'm with you on that. Both of them are extremely annoying and that's the reason I don't use either of them too much anymore. Television has gotten to where for every 10 minutes of program you see, you also see 20 minutes of commercials! But radio is what really gets me. Radio is so full of ads now that I can't stand to listen to it at all. Not only that, but then the DJs talk for an hour, play a song, then talk another hour! ****! The other morning I was listening to a local station. I heard 1 song play within a thirty minute time frame, the rest was ads and the DJs talking. I'm sick of it.

I've solved the problem!

As there's very little programming worth the time spent watching it any more, I just don't bother turning the TV on.

Wife thinks I'm nuts but then I spent most of my childhood in South Africa where there was no TV at all.. there is now and it's just as crap as the UK. I could quite happily live without a TV, and did so until I met my then future wife.
She'll watch any old rubbish and then moan about it being rubbish :-)

Have you noticed how all the ads are synchronised at times now?
We have cable with something like 100 channels and a lot of the time it's pointless channel surfing when the ads are on because the vast majority of channels play the ads at the same time in an attempt to stop you flicking around.

To "DVR rools", not for long if Philips get their way.
They have a patent on stopping you from fast forwarding through the ads recorded and also on locking out channel change while ads are playing on air.
The only reason they've not done anything with the idea yet is the anticipated "Punter Backlash" :-)
You can experience this already on some DVD's where you can't whizz past the interminable trailers any more, you're forced to watch them.

I asked a similar question - I'm fed up with all the adverts interrupting viewing time myself - especially the ones that are repeated at every interval. Sky are the worst - the programme starts and the open titles finish then its advert time!!!!

Long live the BBC I say!

Have you also noticed how the commercial channels broadcast the adverts slightly louder than the programming, I wonder if the advertisers realise how many people mute their expensive adverts!

I for one love adverts. They are better than the usual crap we get to watch on TV.

Yes, they'll cut out all the commercials. Then they'll dry up their revenues and go out of business.

It's a very easy problem to solve:
(1) Get premium cable TV.
(2) Get satellite radio.

No more commercials!

Totally agree but atleast we dont live in the US. They get twice as much and they dont even get any warning. Mind you the programmes are sh*t so it's pointless watching anyway lol
