Get a lineoleum knife, some linoleum glue and cut and splice the new piece in there. You should be able to get the parts at any hardware store. Make sure you match up the pattern well. If you do it right it will be hard to see the splice. Not good for high traffic areas tho :-)

profesional installers use a seam-sealer. it is a special two-part glue with applicator that is designed for what you want. any flooring store should keep in in stock...

putty glue from your local store or mix up a batch of grout.
