I've heard that spraying vinegar on the ground works. In lieu of that, try a big dog.

Cats usually do not like citrus. Take some lemons and oranges and slice them up and place them on the ground throughout your garden. They usually do not like spicy things, either. Try the same with chili powder and sprinkle it around the garden. I did the chili powder thing with the tires on my car. Where I used to work, dogs were always marking my tires like they were their property. I carried a huge container of chili powder in my car and when I parked it, I would sprinkle a little bit on each tire. After a few days, no more pee!

The diana model 54 air rifle does 1100ft per second with a .22 calibre. It will kill a cat nicely within your yard while making very little noise. It isn't dangerous because it doesn't have a very long range so it is unlikely that you would hurt anyone/ thing outside your yard like you might with a .22 and a silencer.

Cayenne pepper it works but you have to keep re applying it.
A B-B gun will get their attention too. It doesn't have quite the effect that a 12 gauge does though.
Never had much luck with vinegar.
Try putting the hair from your hairbrush around the garden it sometimes helps.

I used to work in a nursery and we would offer two things for that. One there is a sensor that you can buy that you put in your garden that when they pass by it, it sounds out a loud screetching noise that we cant hear but the animal can. Its about 89% accurate. The other is a spray that is call LIQUID FENCE. It smells like garlic and some other things but it is non harmful to pets or humans. that one is 94% accurate.

Sprinkle Cayenne pepper aound the garden.. sure to keep them out. They get a good dose of the hot stuff.. no harm done but they won't like it and won't come back.... won't harm your plants either.

do not use vinigar it will kill your plants. there is a liquid product i think its call pest away or somehting like that, its very punget stinks like you wouldnt believe, you can use that around the border of your yard but it will wash away i nthe rain. or you can use a motion detector that emitts a high pitched sound you cant hear but will annoy them. the easiest thing it to get rid of what cats liek to eat around your house. trash, rodents, mint, catgrass, certain ornamental grasses, lemon grass, dandelions, green beans, chives, onions, leeks, wild catnip, cat thyme, flax, oat grass, jacobs ladder, purple grasses and alfalfa.
