Spiders taste with their feet (apparently) so if you take a damp cloth and citrusline and wipe it on your walls of your house the spiders will really hate the taste of this and pretty soon will bugger off somewhere else, never to return.

A Natural Spider Spray Formula for inside the house:
Dr Bronners Peppermint or Lavender Soap, or any other natural soap.
1 ounce of Neem oil
You can also add 1 to 5 drops of any of these Essential Plant Oils (depending on your preference) to 1 quart of water:
Catnip Oil, Citronella Oil, Lavender Oil, Cinnamon Oil, Peppermint Oil, Citrus Oil, Tea Tree Oil, or other essential oils.
Add 5 tablespoons of the soap per quart water. Add one ounce of the Neem oil to the water which you have added the soap and label it. Shake well and spray inside house where spiders are seen. Test for strength. May be done as often as needed. This is not a long term solution but will provide you immediate help. Oils may stain some fabrics or light colored furnishings, test first.

I am terrified of them also! My husband laughs at me because I am so freaked out about them. I get the insecticide called malathion (not sure of the spelling) or something similar like Diazinon and I mix it about 10 times stronger than it says and I spray around all the baseboards in my house and around the complete outside perimeter of my house. I do this when I know we will be gone for a while until the smell goes away. We have two dogs outside so we also make sure it doesn't get in any water or food supplies. Needless to say I hardly ever see ANY types of bugs!

Go to Home Depot, Lowe's or similar retailer and ask the same question. They have many solutions you can use without the expense of calling in a pest control specialist.

Trim all the bushes around your house down really low. WInter is on the way, so you won't have to worry about them again until spring. Make sure all your windows are sealed and locked...there may a crack somewhere they are crawling through.
Good luck.

Make sure you get rid of all the webs - best way to do it is to get a feature duster and go around the rims of your ceiling. The fewer webs, the fewer spiders.

im scared of them too. what i do is buy the spray sold in stores and go all around the outside of the house spraying it. i also buy these things that you plug in .. kinda looks like an air freshner or something. i also went around to check if there were any holes where they might be getting in like under cabinets or little corners. its worked for me cause i rarely see them. good luck!
