It has the round distributor cap with 6 leads coming off it where is the coil or coil packs

The coil is inside the distributor. Most of the time you have to get a whole new dist. to get a coil or pick-up in it. Part stores may offer them seperate. When you take the cap off you should see a spring like thing on the dist. that goes into the coil. Some do and some don't on them. I can't remember how the others are right off.

Most likely you have COPs. Coil On Plug. that means you have one coil mounted on top of each sparkplug.
