No sport is really easy, but with some good coaching lessons, you should have no problem, get a good racket and most import good strings and the correct size grip, think about this what sports can you play when your old and gray, tennis and golf, so a good idea to learn now! A few years ago in florida I was in an area called the golf coast and heard there was a tennis tournament so I went to watch, it was the International Tennis Federation womens tournament for ladies 85 and older, I could not believe what I was seeing, they were running around and hitting balls like some 15 yr old kid, keeps you fit in mind and body, my advice go for it! You will meet a lot of nice guys too, non smokers!!!

I have played every sport possible, but tennis is the hardest to learn because of the variety of things you must do. I thankfully started with tennis and every other sport was easy to pickup. I played baseball and figured that was easy. All i have to do is hit a ball they throw over a small plate. In tennis, they can serve it anywhere to you. I could go on about all the other sports as well, but tennis requires speed, agility, intelligence, hand eye coordination, footwork, strength. There are no other sports that require so much of you. I never will understand why it gets a bad wrap as such a sissy sport.

No, tennis is definitely not easy to learn. I started playing half a year ago and have been working pretty hard since then and still i am not satisfied with my level at all. My coach can easily beat me to love if she wants to. It is a kind of sort that requires patience, physical abilities and commitment and if you want to start playing, you wont be able to enjoy playing for at least 3 months. However, i think it is worth learning...

Tennis is a very difficult game to play but if you give tennis time you will eventually learn in 10 to 20 weeks. If you want to be competitive then give it 30 to 90 weeks of full time practice. Always have a clam and cool head when playing tennis to keep your concentration.

I started to learn play tennis 5 months ago and i a m really enjoying it.
It is not an easy play to learn, as it requires agility, stamina, fitness , good health and mental ability.
It is a long way before you can see yourself as a TENNIS PLAYER,
Good luck to you with that.

It's easy to learn to play, but it takes a long while to become good. So stick with it and you will become a decent player. Take some lessons at the YMCA or anywhere else that gives lessons around where you live.

tennis is the hardest sport to learn. i have played on basketball, soccer, and baseball teams, but tennis is the hardest of them all. there's so many different types of shots (drop shots, lobs, overheads), spins (topspin, slice, flat), and strokes (forehand, backhand, serving, returning, volleys) to learn. it takes a long time to actually become a good player. its also a sport where u never stop learning, and you have to continue to practice if you want to get better. its best to start at a young age.

I have to agree with ACE25 on this one. It takes years to really master a shot, and there are so many different shots as the ball comes with different angles, spins, and speed. (And we are not even talking about the different surfaces you can play on). If anyone thinks they can pick it up in 6 months or less, than they are not really playing at a competitive level, but rather are just able to get the ball back to an opponent with similar skill.
