NO they dont run your credit when you open a savings acct only on a checking acct do they run something called chexsystems which is a network of banks that report delinquent customers for various reasons like excessive overdrafts making fraudelent checks etc...but your credit will not be ran

If the account has an over draft option, meaning that you can potentially owe them money, then the answer is yes otherwise it is no.
There are two different types of inquiries to your credit report, one would hurt your credit rating the other one doesn't.
The ones that doesn't hurt your credit rating are like credit card company who want to send you promotional stuff (invitation to a new credit card).
All the other inquiries would hurt your rating. Like if you are applying for mortgage, applying for credit card, applying for car insurance, applying for cell phone plan etc.

Well they will run a credit check when you open your account. Some make soft inquiries and some will make hard inquires.

No they dont..... Your savings account is your own money they wont run a credit check for that....

I don't think so, but if you owe another bank money you want be able to open a saving account, until you pay the other bank back! I think they just check your bank history!

Yes they do. You can get a credit report run three times in three months without it causing your rate to drop.
