Increase your coasting time and distance when stopping. You will be pleasantly surprised. My wife almost never coasts for any distance. When I drive her car, I get 25 to 27 MPG. When she drives, 20 MPG.

Check your tire pressure, keep clean, cut out unnecessary weight, add a cleaner to fuel system to clean injectors, add a power chip to the ECU, cold air intake the more horse power you can build less fuel needed for movement, By the way it's a great motor combo you have.

It's about you, never "floor it" and as another poster said, keep the rev low. Cruise where ever you go, don't wind it out. Modify your driving habits and watch your mileage go up.

Check your tires for proper inflation, I'm that mechanically intellegent on diesels, I do however know that there is no plugs to change hahaha, so I wouldn't know what else to tell you.
