Yes. Principally, tigers are nocturnal hunters although in protected areas away from human intervention the animal is often active during the day.
Tigers are primarily nocturnal, meaning they hunt at night. But they may continue to hunt during the day if they are not successful. They may travel 10 to 20 miles in a single night searching for a meal.

Yes, tigers are nocturnal primarily, as are lions, jaguars, and most other large cats. As has been stated they will sometimes hunt during the day, generally at dawn or dusk.

Simple answer - No.
Tigers are stealth predators and ambush their prey. They have phenomenol eyesight (believed to be more than six times our own) and they have obvious advantages at night. Some tigers prefer to hunt at night because they can travel unnoticed and stalk their prey till they can quickly attack them.
Having said that, some of the tiger's prey have a wonderful sense of smell and can smell the tiger if the winds are favourable. Even then, it's better at the night for the tiger since most of these prey species have poor visibilty and they are probably easier to get at night.
So, tigers are not strictly nocturnal, but do prefer to hunt at night, but that will not stop them from working during the day time. :)

not really. depending on where they live, they might do more hunting at night just because its cooler, but in general they sleep a lot during the day just to keep energy levels up and to stay out of the heat.

I believe they can hunt equally well during day or night. They hunt during the night if they live close to humans, it increase their safety.
