I need to check my email NOW for work but my other computer crashed. What does "add new identity" mean on outlook express? Does that mean I can add my email address and get my emails on this computer instead of my other one? Please help :-(

All an identity does is store the settings for a profile. The profile is how OE knows how to get the messages.

The pop server address > Where to get the email
The user/ID password how to get the email
The SMTP address where to send and how to send the email.

Make a new identity and put in these settings supplied by your ISP and then you should be in business!

Yes, you can add a new Identity to your Outlook Express and set it up to download emails from your account.

If your work uses a private eMail server, it could be a bit more involved than just a simple setup. Call whoever is resposible for eMail at your office and ask if it's possible to connect your home PC. You may need additional software.

You need to have the server information for the email server you're trying to check.

Click on Tools > Accounts > Add - Mail > Follow the prompts. Eventually it will ask you for the incoming mail server (Pop3) and the outgoing mail server (SMTP) - You'll need to have those along with your user name and password.

All your Outlook Express problems should be solved if you go to a great site I found.

you have to get the incoming smtp and outgoing smtp and your other profile info from the first computer in outlook and move it to the new one.

if there is a system administartor there that takes care of all of your computers you should have them do it for you.
