I would say Blair Thomas.

You can't say Maurice Clarett. He was a 3rd round pick.

Ki-Jana Carter, Maurice Clarett, or Rashaan Salaam

I would say Ron Dayne...barring any huge unlikely comeback this year. The guy never showed up in the NFL.

Clarett may come to mine, but I don't really consider him an "NFL Bust" because I don't really consider him to ever have been in the NFL. He never started and I don't even think he ever played. He was just a big waste of talent.

Someone Mentioned Musa Smith but he really is not a bust. He broke his leg for crying out loud, you can't run with that. PLUS he has Jamal Lewis in front of him. He has been great this year in the pre-season and personally, I think he will leave Baltimore in a few years and be a great back.

KiJana Carter is a popular answer, and rightfully so. He was a #1 overall pick, but he never did anything. He was injured on his first carry in his first preseason game, so he never really had the chance to become great.

I'll remove him from the conversation. I can't call a guy a bust if he didn't have a fair shake. I'll say Blair Thomas (another PennState product) is probably the biggest bust I've seen.

I can just see everyone now, looking at their computer screens, saying "who?". That's exactly the point. Blair Thomas was a beast at Penn State, and was drafted #2 overall in 1990.

Never did a thing. I think he was out of the league by 1996.

Clarett, he couldn't even make a team after talking about how great he was. Ki-Jana Carter had injury problems and you can't really call him a bust based on that.

Maurice, maurice, what the hell did you do to yourself?

Curits Enis for the Bears is the biggest one I can think of right now.

Edit- I wouldn't call William Perry a bust. First off, there was no hype to live up to. Secondly, the man scored a touchdown in the Super Bowl. None of the other backs we're talking about has even played on a winning team, let alone get a chance to score in the big game.

Maurice Clarett? There were never any expectations to not meet. Hmm...Tim Biabakatuka(sp?) for the Panthers, Curtis Enis(Bears), Rashaun Salaam(sp?)(Bears), Booker Morris(Bills), William Green(Browns) and Lee Suggs(Browns) are what I can come up with...

I agree with you. Ki- Jana Carter was supposed to be good. But he was a huge bust.

Eddie Lee Ivery- Green Bay Packers 1977.

His claim to fame was rushing for over 400 yards in an NCAA game (Georgia Tech?), but never translated into success in the NFL.
