I have loads of music collection on old fashioned magnetic tapes.which I want to transfer to my computer's HDD.How do I upload this precious collection of mine,to my computer.
I'll be greatful if you could give me step by step guidence to convert this analogue music to digital music,and transfer this to "My Music",on my HDD.

i haven't actually tried to do this yet myself, but the instructions i found at the windows media web site explain it very clearly, with good illustrations. seems much clearer than anything else i have found. (i have pasted the link into the know your source section of this post.)

The way I did it:

I have a speaker system that connects through the headphone jack and has the same type of connector to connect to the computer and to the woofer at the other end. I took the connecting wire, plugged one into the headphone jack of my stereo and one end into the microphone jack on my computer. Then I opened an audio editing/recording program, hit record on my computer, and then play on my stereo. Make sure, if you do this, that you have an editing program that can save as MP3 - or you will just be stuck with WAV files.

I have wanted to do that too. I heard there are some ways to do it u just have to have eternal hookups..... whatever that is.. I hope u get a good answer
