I am certain any racial remarks will be edited out and that the racial divide Will only last one or two shows. However while America attempts to mend racial divides CBS highlights them!! Its wrong. Survivor has been poor last few season so I think they are guessing thi swill boost it I think opposite! I will NOT (1st time since it started) be watching! Seems like many sponsor don't like racial divide either GM, Coca Cola and, Home Depot have all pulled out. I urge everyone to not watch and contact CBS and tell them so. I further urge everyone to contact shows advertisers and tell them you plan to boycott their products!!

I don't think it is a big deal. It is just a new twist to keep the Survivor show popular. The contestants knew what the premise of the show, and if they had any objections to it, they could have opted out. As for people thinking it is racism, I beg to differ. It is merely a tv show, seekign ratings. The different races are not going to be treated any different than normal ie (African Americans wont be subservient to Caucasian.) If that was the case, then I along with everybody else would have a problem with it. But, the simple answer to this is, if you are offended by it, do not support it by watching it.

Now, why was separating into groups of same not an issue last season when it was women vs. men? Why are people so sensitive about this? Particularly when we are talking about a game? I am sure the producers were looking for something controversial since last season's viewership was lower than usual. This will probably get some people to tune in at least for tonight.
I like the show and do watch it fairly regularly. I have no problem with this idea.

It's just another ploy by CBS to get ratings. They are hoping that people will take an IMMEDIATE interest in the show because all they have to do is look at their skin to know who they want to root for rather than taking a few episodes to get to know the characters. The bottom line is that the idea is generating alot of buzz which is what CBS wanted.

I think its a GREAT idea!! There is so much racism that goes on here in America but people don't like to discuss it. I think its a good idea to put it out there on television so people can stop acting like racism doesn't exist! Racism is a huge problem but I don't think we talk about it enough because its such a sensitive issue, people like to act like it was so long ago.
I mean, the show isn't going to end racism or anything but at least it will show the reality of how racism and prejudice work in society. .who knows

I think it's a bad idea. You will have people rooting for thier race and against all the other races. Let's say, for example, the white group is a bunch of ego maniacs. Everyone who's not white will watch it and say "See, all white people ARE like that!"
I think it's a step in the wrong direction.

I think it will be interesting, to see if the different races work together differently. These people signed up for it, so I hope none of them complain about it afterward. (they didn't have to do it!)

I don't think its a good idea, because it creates racial divide and tension. Imagine discussing it at your office or church or gym.
Shaniqua : Becky, who are you rooting for.
Becky: the white team
Shaniquea: You freaking racist
Becky: No am not, who you rooting for
Shaniqua: the black team ...
Becky: You freaking racist

My suspicion is, like in the real world, as long as the final winners are not Caucasian no one will be too upset.
I'm sure the contests and contestants will be chosen to make sure this doesn't happen.
