what is the difference between the sims 2 cd rom edtion and the dvd edition

The only difference is that it takes 4 CDs and more time to load the same stuff onto the computer. The DVD version doesn't require you to keep changing disks for the installation. Of course, you need to have a computer that can do DVDs if you get the DVD version.

During game play, you will need to put the first DVD into the drive to play the game.

Be sure to register since that will keep your codes permanently available if something happens to your CD/DVDs and you can get replacements plus have access to the Offical site and all the downloads including bug patches.

The Sims 2 DVD edition has only one disc, installs fast while the Sims 2 CD edition has four disc and takes longer. That's the only difference between the two, though if you're going to get the Sims 2 base game you want the one with Happy holidays on it because it has the extra content from the happy holiday stuff pack in it.
