Does anyone know why microsoft flight simulator 04 wont run on my machine? I just got the game today, it installed really easy (machine is a year old with windows XP) all the files downloaded ok, but when I click on the fly now ico the screen goes black and the PC freezes.

Is there any graphic cards etc I need to download? If so where do I find them?

Cheers.

You can't download a graphics card, it is a piece of hardware. You can only download software!!!

Right click the "My Computer" icon and select "Manage." Then go to the Device Manager and drill down to your Display Adapter. At least, that's how to do it in XP. You cannot update your video card for free. It isn't software, it's a component inside your computer. You need to buy a new one and replace it. If you have a laptop, then you're absolutely stuck with the graphics card that you have.

you cant download a graphics card... its something you buy and place inside your pc. you can download drivers for graphics card though but this depends which one you have.

i cant help more without full details of your pc.
it could however be that you have selected a resolution or refresh rate above what your monitor supports.

see if in the setup options there is a way you can change to 640x480@60hz, this will display on all monitors.

lol.. u can't download graphics card.. however u can go to the site the company made and upgrade the drivers, and MAYBE it might work.. chances.. it won't..

Whats huge about games these days, is that they require certain charatiristics of a card.. such as World Of Warcraft requires "lightning".. that requires a higher end card.. a lower end card just gives u a crap image or nothing (in ur case)...

Also.. you may have "intergrated graphics"... its a crap graphics card weilded onto ur motherboard.. if u see an empty agp slot.. yea, that wat u have.. u need to go out and buy urself at least a 40$ card.. i spent 120.00 and its buetiful.. but w/e ur budget is.
