I've been every year since they started. It used to be scary, but it's lame now. I would either try Howl O Scream (Busch Gardens Tampa) which is a better show, or stay home and scare your friends...

HHN (Halloween Horror Nights) is not that scary at all, if you get scared easily and don't like being scared just don't show it or else the "scarers" will go after you and pick on you more. They do have guys with chain saws (chain not on but real), and metal trash can lids that jump out at you from the bushes. In the Haunted Houses they hide behind the corners or behind doors. After awhile you will pick up on their hiding spots and be able to pick them out. It is finally back in Universal instead of IOA (Islands of Adventure) which makes it better considering they have more room for the houses and in the back they have the dark alley ways. Since you're not big into scary things then you definitely need to check out the Bill and Ted Show (even if you are enjoying yourself, check it out) it is hilarious they make fun of all the years movies, show up about 15min early it does fill up.
Believe me on not showing your scared if you don't want to be picked on my fiance worked there 2yrs in a row now. Hope you enjoy yourself!
P.S. Busch Garden's Howl-O Scream is 10x better then HHN, giving that it is scarier and they don't recycle their houses year after year.

I have been once & I can't stand scarey things unless it's just watching a movie. I was scared out of my mind. See I hate clowns & we ended up going into the Circus tent & that did it for me, I was done for the night. It wasn't my idea to go to HHN at all, but a group of friends really wanted to go so I said what the heck & I was even drunk (not wasted, just alittle tipsy) & that seem to make it worse.

If you like being scared and surprised this is the place to be. It is not cheap, but what great time is?
Good advice is to go with a Friend, spouse, or family member. Keep this in mind, although they get close, they don't touch you or hurt you in anyway. But remember you will scream, shout, and when it is over you'll be exhausted and glad you went!

it sounds like you wont like hhn. honestly universal is money crazy now and tries to pack as many people as they can in the park. the lines for all the haunted houses are usally hours long and you have to pay a lot of money to go.
this year they are recycling some of the haunted houses they have used in the past so the ideas and cosutmes are the same.
universal expects people to pay a lot of money but does not give them a good night.
got to www.halloweenhorrornights.com for more pics and info.

the only scarey thing is all the drunk people running around acting crazy, lots of liquor served up in park.
