My pc keeps telling me that my netzero member id & password are incorrect----Yet when i use my pc at work i can log on to my netzero homepage with no problem. So it can't be my member id & password right?----------I want to call netzero but they will want to chrg me $1.95 per minute. So maybe i could get some help from someone here before i spend the money for something that's a small isssue. The error identified with this is #691--That's what net zero help page say's. Could a blackout could have caused this---but i shut my pc off when i'm not using it. Can someone who has or had the same kind of issue pls send me some suggestions? Thank you.......................

Retype your username and password. (it doesn't matter if you've never changed it, never had a problem before - just do it) If the modem is dialing and actually handshaking your modem is working fine. (If the modem goes bad, you'll get errors like "Unable to Negotiate a compatible set of network protocols' or "Modem is Not responding or is not installed" or my favorite "No dial tone")

Are you trying to connect through splitters, or a 50 foot phone cord? If so - try shortening the cord as much as possible, try a new phone cord, remove any splitters.

Have you retyped the password with no success, uninstall net zero, and reinstall the software. If it doesn't have it's own software you're going to have to make a Dial Up Networking connection with the same information.

Do a search on your computer (Start > Search) for *.pwl, click search. It will give you a list of programs or services that at some point had a password associated with them. Delete them. All of them. Reboot.

At this point, you should have retyped your Username and Password, deleted the connection and recreated it, checked the actual connection from the Modem to the wall and deleted your *.pwl files (Password files) - Depending on the version of Windows (95-98SE, ME) you can Uninstall/Reinstall Dial Up networking. Hopefully you won't have to go through this step, or you're running XP.

This is in fact a bad user id or password being used. Try creating a new location and enter the correct information if you can not edit your current settings.

check all your connections, then if you can take your modem to a friends house and test it there or work if youre allowed, if the modem works somewhere else, then its your connection or phone line
