I really like: Texas, Oklahoma, Tennessee, North Carolina, South Carolina, Mississippi, Louisiana, Alabama, Georgia. Could qualify as the friendliest states in America!
I can do without: Kentucky (especially), West Virginia, Virginia, Florida, Arkansas. They have good people and qualities, but they're not as friendly as open as the rest of the South.

I live in Florida, which has its good & bad points, plus different parts of FL have different cultures. I don't like Texas, but that's probably not fair, because that is a big state also & i've only been in a small part of it. I also didn't like S Carolina. The people I encountered there let me know that they were happy to have my money, but then it was "Yankee Go Home". I'm from PA which also has good & bad points. Avoid the big cities. The mountains are great & the people in the small towns friendly.

Without a doubt Tennessee is my favorite. I've been to the Smokey Mountains quite a few times. It's beautiful down there.
West Virginia is a great state, in my opinion. The people are great.

I like SC, (of course where I am from), Virginia, Alabama and Georgia, but Georgia is quite busy for me. The others I could do without. Move Disney World to Georgia. That would work for me.

I really enjoy traveling through-out the South. The mountain states are my favorites. Only drawback is the intense heat/humidity in states like Georgia and Alabama in the summer.
