He went to school to play football, not to learn something.

Roy Williams is a complete and total fool.
Not only did he make that comment about almost scoring 40 last weekend (um ya OK Roy you never even got inside the 20 yard line) but he went on to say something even MORE dumb.
He GUARANTEED a victory against the Bears. Keep in mind this is the same Bears team that shut out Brett Favre for the FIRST TIME IN HIS CAREER last week. And he thinks THE LIONS OFFENSE can do what BRETT FAVRE couldn't do? Oh boy, Roy... you're really out on a limb there buddy!!
PS the game is in Chicago. Good luck Roy!! Urlacher heard what you said about his defense!! You better not run any routes over the middle!!!

I agree. I live in the Detroit area and when i heard that i just thought WOW! I couldn't believe they almost scored 40 when they were in the redzone maybe 1 time? But then guarenting a win against a Bears team that is now pissed off and is probably going to make sure Roy Williams is a non factor kills the Lions because he really is there best player on offense.

It depends on the Roy Williams you are talking about. Roy Williams the basketball coach for UNC is successful, and doesn't have a big mouth. Unfortunately, the same cannot be said for Roy Williams the football player.

Players in the NFL today, and athletes in general have a much higher opinion of themselves and their talent than what their numbers show.
Jerry Porter of the Raiders came to camp with a WWE wrestling heavyweight championship belt on saying how great he was.
I don't even listen anymore. These guys make the older players that were really awesome, like Walter Payton, look better and better everyday.

khm, I think you might have failed English.
Anyways, Roy is retarded, but in a sense, right. Certain plays NEARLY resulted in touchdowns that were either brought back by penalties or incompleted. In that sense, he is right. But using that same logic, last year, Indianapolis was close to winning 16 games, Seattle was close to winning a superbowl, and Junior Seau was CLOSE to retiring.
It's not bad logic, because if one or two things happened differently, the game would have turned out a lot different.
The important thing is, those things didn't turn out, and now Detroit is left to wonder if they can ever win against a good team.

If I were a Lions fan, I'd be inspired...when was the last time anyone on that team gave much indication of caring and really wanting to win? Maybe he'll prove to be able to walk the walk, but talking the talk is more than I've seen a Lion do since Sanders...

a win against chicago is not that far fetched. offensive line gave kitna plenty of time to throw last week. if they can blow some hole open for jones and catch the ball, they'll put up a fight.

Yes he is, just like his retarded breatheran, Kellen Winslow, who just said that his CB will blanket Chand Johnson.
