If the schedules are conflicting, coaches will ask that you choose one or the other, however, if they don't, go for it.

Coaches do prefer that you stick to one sport because doing 2 heightens the risk of an injury occuring, which ruins your ability to peform in any sport.

It depends on the school's policy.

Many allow it if the student plays a very specific role in one of the sports (ie the very common example is a soccer player who is also the kicker for the football team, he doesn't really need to practice football much). It probably comes down to conflicts between games and practices between the two activities. If you want to do two things, talk to both the coaches. Good luck

Most of my athletes also do other sports so I split athletes depending on the season between basketball, soccer, volleyball and track. I just make arrangements with the other coach to allow them to miss one of my practices if I get them to miss 1 of the other practices and we count each others practices as one for.
