Most of the changes are cosmetic. Lots of hype and eye candy. If you have WinXP, stick with it for now.

No, not unless you like to pay hundreds of dollars for nothing but pretty graphics (which you may have to get a new computer to even support). The list of features for Vista has dwindled to almost nothing to the point to where it is degradingly being referred to as XP Service Pack 3, which is pretty much all it is. It is so bloated though, that to run it you may have to buy a new computer. If your computer is over 1.5 years old, you'll need a new one to support all the graphical features (and those are the only thing that is that different about it). It's not safe like M$ claims, they released the beta to 400,000 people and there were 3 viruses within a week. So much for security. Microsoft Security is an oxymoron. Get A Mac. You'll never regret it.

Absolutely not. Get a Mac. It's easier to use, has better features and is far more secure. Heck, a Mac mini, complete with the vastly superior OS X costs just a bit more than the full version of Vista.

No. But likely when you get a new computer sometime after early next year, it will already have Vista installed. That's the only reason most people will use it.
I'm sticking with XP, as well as using Ubuntu. I will use Ubuntu more when I get a new computer (will check that the motherboard is compatible with it first).

of course a first release of windows might not work properly
but if you have a 64bits CPU like me you were waiting for a 64 bit
windows .
of course you know that 64bit windows xp had a loge amount of problem and it made me to use 32 bit win for a 64 bit system
but at least vista doesn't have this problem.

I never buy windows first release! With-in days hacker, crackers and problems show up. Wait until the bugs get worked out.
I want Linux to rule anyway!

Seeing that more security vulnerabilities have been released before it's shipping, I would say not. I'd go with Linux any day. Specifically, SuSE Linux. XGL desktop rocks!
