I'm still kind of stuck in the 70-80's so here are a few:
1. Flock of Seagulls
2. Men At Work
3. Loverboy
4. Queen
5. Rolling Stones
6. Joan Jett and the Blackhearts
7. Manhattan Transfer
8. The J. Geils Band
also more up-to-date in the 2000's

The Beatles....a unique rock group that transformed from boy band to acid rock, something very few rock bands have done.
I really don't have a favorite song but..well, I take that back. I like the song "Get Back" because it features Paul McCartney doing the lead vocals (he's my favorite solo artist, as well as my favorite Beatle).
Oh, and other ones, too:
Coldplay - The Scientist
U2- Vertigo
Sting and the Police - Everything She Does is Magic
The Rolling Stones - As Tears Go By

Third Eye Blind. I think that lyrically and with musical sturcture, their music is unmatched. This will sound odd, but Metalica also has very meaningful and deep lyrics in their music.
