I think you are asking what types of media covered the oj simpson trial.
All media existing at the time was camped around the courthouse 24/7. Every minute of the trial was taped and fed live to tv audiences everywhere. Anyone watching was able to see the evidence and assess the truthfulness of witnesses. It was one of the great dramas ever to play out in a courtroom because of the bigger than life characters involved.
Judge Ito, in retrospect, let matters get out of hand daily. I think he was too aware of the media and did not want to cut off the brilliant lawyers even when they frequently strayed off the subject. Simpson's huge team of lawyers were the best in town, starting with Johnnie Cochran and on down to F. Lee Bailey, who had a limited participation. Bailey, one of the greats, was older and at the end of his flamboyancy, and not really effective. Two other attorneys whose names escape me were relentless in followups to Cochran. Throughout there was the sociopath himself, Simpson, looking older but still handsome. (Note: We had all watched the car chase through L.A. on the day of his arrest. Couldn't have done better if it was scripted. An amazing playout as he arrived back home and refused to get out of the Blazer. I think his adult son finally got him to emerge.).
Prosecution attorneys, whose names I know but cannot recall, were "star" material and did a great job debunking the theories of the defense. Marcia Clark, easy on the eyes, became a media star as did her male co-counsel, a young, good looking black man, both clearly sharp as a tack. They made some errors in judgement and did not fight hard enough to keep the mellow drama to a minimum. I think all parties were aware this was the trial of the century and they did not want to be seen as spoil sports.
In the end, the jury, virtually all black, ignored the overwhelming evidence of his guilt, and freed him as a statement of solidarity by the black community. One asian woman on the jury later stated that she was so intimidated by the aggressive black women on the jury that she had no choice but to vote not guilty. I watched this trial knowing it was all going to have to be done over again because there was no chance that the jury did not contain at least one black person who would vote not guilty just because this was O.J. and he was black and he was being prosecuted by racist America. There was no chance the killer could be found guilty because the trial was held in L.A. and the vast majority of available jurors were of color. Simpson knew it, his attorneys knew it and the prosecution knew it. A horrible waste of money that had to be wasted. A killer walked free. What really amazes me is that his children know he killed their mother and another unrelated adult - returning a pair of glasses left in a restaurant by Nicole - yet they have not turned against him and denounced him as a killer. Clearly, they could see that they would have no real life without the celebrity of their father. Sad.
