Oh, so life is so much fairer in a monarchy, or communist state, or a dictatorship?

It's all in how you define unfair. Capitalism quite fairly gives riches to those who learn how to produce wealth in a capitalistic society, i.e salesmanship, venture capitalists, and making money work for you. If you preceive fairness in an academic sense of who is smarter, more creative or moral, then capitalism would be unfair because it does not reward those qualities. You perceive capitalism to be unfair because you value things that capitalism does not. However, don't claim capitalism is unfair, because it isn't when understood by those who succeed at creating what capitalism values.

You can't get "Fairer" than Capitalism, for within Capitalism ones success is determined by the individual alone.
Socialism declares that no matter how much effort you put forth, that couch potato looser on welfare down the street will gain equally as you do.
I certainly hope you don't consider that fair... of course I guess if your the one on the couch it is fair.
New Orleans after Katrina is a perfect example of just how unfair Socalism is. These folks were so dependant on their Government handouts that they didn't even have enough common sense or self preservation to save themselves.
Like baby birds in a nest they opened their little beaks and chripped for Mayor Nagin and Governor Blanco....The problem was, Nagin and Blanco were doing the same thing.

Unfair, for who? Most productive, responsible people do very well in a capitalist system. For every sob story about why someone can not do well there is one with the same hardships doing what needs to be done. Single mother on welfare- single mother working 2 jobs because she knows her children are her responsibility, she takes pride in doing for herself and her family, she does not take hand outs. What is so fair about a socialist system that punishes those who are responsible and rewards those who are not ? Look at Katrina and what the great social programs created, people literally dying waiting for the government to take care of them and their families.

Capitalism is the most fair of all systems conceived so far. There appears to be an "unfairness" because not everybody steps up to the plate and make the system work for them. Fairness means equal opportunity, not equal results.

This is a pretty vague question. Not sure what you mean, but life's not fair whether you live in a capitalist, communist or any other type of society.

Nature is unfair, so why would anything else be fair? Capitalism is the most natural social system, you may simply be unfit for survival, and therefore will become extinct through natural selection, improving the population through survival of the fittest.

You could honestly have stopped at life being unfair. The reason life is so unfair is survival vs extinction. Strong vs weak. I mean what do you want, somebody to do everything you want and serve it on a platter? Life is tough and rough and it is the reason we have survived!

I think it's the fairest system we can come up with.
Far superior to others.
Work and invest, you get ahead and get to leave stuff for your kids.
Yes, some folks are born with more, but the "trust fund babies" are usually society's biggest screw-ups (not the term I really wanted to use!) and lose it all anyway!
My Dad was a cab driver. I borrowed every cent I had to go to school. One of my roommates had a Dad with millions and his own Lear jet.
Guess who worked harder? ;)

wow - what a wonderful collection of rationalisations, ie, nonrational responses, denial, gee, and that old old chestnut social darwinism still going strong in america - gee whiz
still not admitting there is unfairness in capitalism
1% get 90% of wealth
what will it take to wake you up?
1% get 100% of the wealth?
will that wake you up?
or will you still be bleating about the fairness of capitalism?
90% of people get 10th-1000th of world average hourly pay
what will it take to get you to stop bleating about fairness in capitalism?
99% get 1000th-100000th of world average hourly pay?
capitalism + justice = peace and plenty
present capitalism is not just
we have pay from $1 to $1 billion for a fortnight's work
what will it take to get you to squeeze out of your wits an admission of injustice in pay?
pay from 1c to $1 trillion a fortnight?
morons
you know the rich get richer and the poor get poorer - you know that doesnt mean the rich work harder and harder and the poor work less and less
you know it means that the rich get more per unit of work - you know it means that the rich do less and less work per dollar got
see my other answers here at yahoo for why the overpaid get ever more overpaid and the underpaid get ever more underpaid
