Hi
A booming IT sector is good for removing poverty?
The state of Andhra Pradesh is a live example where the ex.CM Mr Chandra babu naidu did a lot for the IT sector and the state witnessed unparalleled growth in this sector and put Andhra to world map.
But it is also true that it is one of the states where the largest number of farmer's suicide due to poverty. Then it means that IT cannot remove poverty.

But this is not the case -if the money generated by the IT sector is used for the development of the weaker sections (instead for the IT industry itself) of the society then definitely there will be positive returns.

No, it is not. I spent a month in India last summer and witnessed first hand the differing levels of economic standards in the country. While the IT positions have increased the level of open positions within the Indian economy, they have not impacted the level of poverty enough to call it a "remedy". The middle class has increased but the level of poverty within the country is still as heartbreaking and desperate a situation as before.

do u think so? can you imagine how much population we have got. more than 100 crores. and still it is increasing. 99% of them are in bellow poverty line. they will need at least 200 years to come out from that line. so just dream "india shining" no it boom nor another boom is gonna help india. you must have to decrease the growth of population. through that boom only a handful will be rich.

Remady means what solution - how can IT sector remedy for poverty in INDIA! coz u have define what is poverty? poverty is in deep inside part of India thats in villages. No IT company willing set its in inner part of India, coz they want hi-fi infrastructure, 24 hrs power supply, skilled labour. 60% poverty in INDIA is in village area. So "Dur dur tak IT sector remedy nahi ho sakta indian poverty ko".
