I think so. Being fearless could lead to an early death. Reasonable fears are what keep us alive and well.

When someone asks that question I always think of the Indians. To show their bravado a brave would ride parallel to Calvary Soldiers only to get nailed with a bullet. Didn't see much sense in that and I would suspect when the brave went to the 'happy hunting grounds' he probably arrived at the same opinion. So depending on the situation, yes fearlessness can lead to ones demise.

I don't know. Steve Erwin was fearless or foolhardy depending on your point of view but the world will be a poorer place without him. He excited people worldwide about our natural world and probably attracted a different sort of person to the wonders of our planet than perhaps Sir David Attenborough would. I liked his fearlessness.

Yes, it is a very bad thing. My son is fearless and he is also fearless with his little boy. He will drive a quad as fast as he can and straight up mountains with his little boy. He also thinks his son should be fearless. It scares me to death.

listen to the mash theme tune "suicide is painless" fear is a usefull emotion - fear is your brain saying this is stupid and im gonna die, sometimes people have too much fear this is perhaps worse, a prime recent example is steve irwin - he had no reason to fear the stingray because statistically it isn't that dangerous compared to the animals he normally deals with, yet it was the less dangerous animal that he fell victim to rather than a croc or a poisenous snake that commonly kill people if a mistake is made in handling them (i dont think steve was fearless i think he trusted his knowledge of animals to keep him safe as many times he backed away when an animal started to look like they were in a bad mood)

remember as a child you were fearless.. you would touch creepy crawlies and bugs, climb the highest tree, etc. i think its a good thing to keep that about you and enjoy life but you've got to have a sense of danger and know what is too far!
