i have been on chat rooms and tried on line dating i am actually now married with a man who i met of the yahoo uk chat room
as to meeting make sure you have a pic of them so that you know who your meeting always meet in a public place and always make sure someone knows where you are and with whom just in case but as long as you follow simple safty guidelines go with your instinct everytime and have fun

it depends if you have the wisdom and maturity to decide
yes it can be alright to chat but not so wise to meet
having friends to chat with is good you can share and seek advice then it is your choice to accept that advice because it is only you that can know what is right for you in the end you are an individual and have the right to choose

ive done that and i dont c the problem as long as u no the person well
make sure they dont lie 2 u
i once met sum1 who told me he was 14 but wen i met him he'd just got his driving liscence!

no fo course not i have a lot a friends i've met there and some of them really r good friend is was worth it.
