Adelle Davis discusses this in her book Let's Get Well. It is all dependant on eating a diet that optimizes conditions for proper health of skin and hair.
Go to swansonvitamins.com and search for skin and hair products. They should be able to show you a bunch of supplements compounded to help you with your problem.
Vitasearch.com may have useful info for you too.
Good luck!

First and foremost please cut all the stress from your life as soon as possible. Seek professional help if necessary. If your life is OK and your hair loss is not stress related, you can look in the link below and see how diet can help with that. On shampoos and topical treatments remember that hair grows from follicles that emerge from your scalp, consequently treating the problem inside out is a much better and effective approach. In the case of a progressing medical condition it would be nice to consult a doctor, as allopecia is progressive and once is in stage 6 and 7 not even surgery can help. Good Luck!
