I would feel unprotected and be worried about bigger fish.

Hmm, knowing what I know about the sea I would be afraid of getting eaten by a bigger fish, not being able to find food, getting caught and killed by a human, poisoned by agricultural run-off, or chopped up in the propellers of a boat. I guess if I were a fish I would not think if those things and would be content with the only thing I had ever known - the vastness of the ocean. With my human background I have to say I'd rather be a pet in an aquarium!

Isn't is true that fish live by instinct, and not thoughts like "enjoyment?" I suppose you mean, what if I were a fish with human feelings - in which case, I'd still be happier, because I think fish are better in touch with just doing what they're supposed to do without thinking about the vastness of things.

If I were a fish, I would definitely enjoy the sea and it vastness, unless I was at the bottom of the food chain.

Fish live in schools and many of them don't range of huge area's of the ocean but may stick to a very small area so I think the answer is I'd live much as I do now, in a community with familiar surroundings. If I became bored of it I could move. Perhaps that is what is different then fish tanks is they can never move, but you can buy new fish and change the arrangement of the rocks and coral.

I think if I were a fish I wouldn't consider the ocean more free or vast than land. I already feel like I live in a free, vast place...and my memory lasts more than 4 seconds :-)

Yes, I want to be a mermaid.

There is also a Chain of Command within the sea, and I shall remain the bottom feeder.

Yeah, I would definitely be scared of getting eaten or caught by stupid humans, who will either eat me or put me in a tank.
