blunt honesty is meant as positive corrective criticism while psychological abuse is a hurtful and personal jab.

If someone deliberately wishes another harm and verbally beats them over and over that is psychological abuse. Some people find blunt honesty a trait to be admired. But unless the person wielding it has a working relationship with tact it can be cruel and sometimes unnecessary.

Trust me if it ever happens to you you'll know the difference. Abuse is when they do it just to hurt you, whether its true or not.
