Well let me answer you this way, my ex-husband beat me back in December and I divorced him right then and there. See I do not care whether it is legally, or not or that he was in rage because "I did something to provoke him" or that he was blinded with love, no one and no one should raise a hand to you. If he was so pissed the first time, he will again that is just it.
I have always say that another person thinking or even entertaining the idea that a man can beat his wife better be very careful because either one day or already now, they have a little girl and how would you feel if you hear that you little girl was being beaten by a man and it was because she "deserved it" or that he was so much in love and so blinded by rage that he did it... I do not know of anyone, sane or unsane who will agree or say that it is ok...
Now legally, depending where you live and your religion and faith, which all that take in place and it is up to you not to go there or not get involved there. But if you were born and grew up in this "area", we may not understand it but I guess it could be ok...
Now, morally, no and again no... there can never be anything moral about hitting, abuse (physical or mental) or any other type of force put on someone without their will and consent.
I do believe that this subject though is a no-win situation for it does depend on each and every one of us whether this is allow or not, but should you know that you were never raised this way and you knew having such thought are out of character for you, go and seek help... it may not help (because you probably will do it anyways) but do get up and try to understand where all this is coming from and try to channel it somehow. We do it with our kids by putting them into activities and so counseling that should or at least are being advertised as being helpful.
Again, man or women, should you have any of these things, try not to act upon it. Step out, run, punch the wall or something but do not use your spouse as a punching bag because whether you like it or not, while you are seating in a solitary cell (prison) and you remember what you have done, it probably is too late because the next week or year you will see either your daughter or son walking in through these doors handcuffed since they thought that doing like you was good. And for that, you will probably kill yourself...

First off, I will say that I am a female.
I think that if a woman does something that would warrant being punched in the face by a man, then it should be ok.
If a man were to do the same thing to another man and the guy he made mad hit him no one would think twice of it.
Why is that? Because alot of people still consider women to be the smaller/fairer sex. But then women want the same rights as men and to not be thought of as such...And so it is my thinking that if women want to be treated as men then they should..
Even if it means gettin punched in the face.
Now say if a wife makes her husband a meal and the husband is late and the food gets cold. He doesn't have the right to be mad and hit the woman. I don't think thats right. Nor do I think its fair for the man to a woman just because he's paranoid/jealous...I hear those circumstances be brought up a lot when talking about domestic violence.

No, a husband does not have the right to beat his wife even if she does something stupid. No one has the rights to put their hands on another person especially a wife.

Should a husband spend life in prision for beating his wife? I'm sure the inmates would love to address the situation!

HELL NO! No man should lay his hands on any woman, as well as vice-versa. A husband should cherish his wife as his help-mate, and she should honor her husband as her protector. Abuse of any kind, emotional, verbal, or physical is wrong...it will tear a person apart inside and out. Also, if there are children involved they will pick up the destructive behaviors of abuse, or develop other problems associated with turmoil in the home.

Okay, No. But, I have been given a really good jab to the jaw by my ex-husband, and I deserved it because I delivered the first blow. Beating is a whole nother story.
