I like to wear white when painting, but then I am a traditionalist and most professional painters wear white. However, I know many who prefer to wear dungarees for painting. A lot depends what color you are painting the room, something in the same shade will cause fewer cleanup problems.
I have heard that there is a significant number that don't wear anything, specifically to prevent ruining clothing. This is ok, but if you have others painting with you it can cause some major distractions and the possibility of things getting very interesting before you finish.

Feng shui teaches that yellow is a very bad choice for walls because it is a very draining color. It over-stimulates the eyes and then your room won't feel peaceful. But, that's only important if you care about feng shui. Do what you love. You can always paint it again.
