The ones that sit on the floor are called caster or coaster cups. The ones that slide right on to the leg itself are sometimes called crutch tips. They both come in various sizes so you need to know what size your furniture legs are .What I do in a case like that is take a small piece of cardboard and slide it under the leg so it makes an indentation in it.Then you have the right size to take with you to your home building center or local hardware store. Good Luck !

They are called "nylon tips".
They come in all shapes and sizes and methods of attachment.
We have wooden legs and use the adhesive felt pads which won't scratch (or groove) wooden floors. We have them on the bottom of the table legs too.
1- They do collect dust and we change them every 6 months because they get thin (The chairs and table are heavy)
2- The nylon type (also called gliders) tend to grove soft parquet floors and some hardwoods too. If you move the furniture with care, not sitting in the chairs during movement, they do move easily and will limit damage.
3- There are rubber, hard rubber, flat steel covered rubber & many more different types. Even large circular plastic ones with a thick carpet like surface.
4- Check your local home center (Cabinetry) department or local Hardware store, they can help.
Good Luck!

Furniture Cups are what they're going to call it at the hardware store (US) but if you call them coasters and explain what you're needing them for, they should be able to help you. I don't like that they're called Furniture Cups, but they didn't seem to ask me.
Also- measure the size of your futon's legs before you go to the hardware store. Cups come in different sizes and you'll want ones that fit your furniture.

You're asking for "positive" answers, so does that mean answers that agree with your stance on this issue, or are you talking about truthful answers? There's a huge difference. Anyone can post on her agreeing with you 100% but you have to remember that some of those answers come from little kids who haven't any idea what they're talking about, and adults who have about as much. First, you said the dog was "just unwanted" - you have to find out why. That is a very vague reason. And, while I will get T/D I'm sure, you have to remember that Pit Bulls were bred for decades to be OTHER DOG AGGRESSIVE - that was their breed purpose; and by the same token, they were bred to be people friendly (hence the "sweetheart" dog description). Many dogs who are absolute dolls around people are the same dog that will rip the throat out of another dog. It is genetic. Pit Bulls are good looking, strong dogs and with the RIGHT PERSON (one with experience), they can be trained and properly managed. With an uneducated, inexperienced person they can be a keg of dynamite set to go off and a tragedy in the making. I understand that time is not on the side of this particular dog that you want, but you have to take your mother's wishes into consideration. It is her home and she fears for the safety of her dog (and that fear just may be justified). The best thing for you and your mother (and people ARE more important that dogs), is to wait until you are out on your own, gain a bit more experience with large breed, strong willed dogs and THEN rescue a Pit Bull. Unfortunately, and as I'm sure you've noticed, the shelters are full of them - most on death row, and trust me that's no coincidence. ADD: I just want to point out that no dog, of ANY breed is aggressive - Until he is! By that I mean any dog with teeth will bite given the right set of circumstances or incentives. And APBT's incentives were other dogs. The breeders took the biggest, baddest male and bred him to the biggest baddest female for decades compounding this drive. For every story you get of a supposed sweetheart APBT, there are 100 stories of a dog that has killed or maimed a family pet (your mom has had that experience), or even a person/child. I can related one story from personal experience; An elderly lady lived down the road for many years. She had a neutered male APBT who loved children. Some of the neighborhood kids would go down to her place specifically to play with Buddy. He was the neighborhood sweetheart for YEARS - UNTIL.....he killed two of one neighbor's cats and a small dog that wandered into the yard. The last incidence was witnessed by some horrified kids. I hope you are right about this dog. Maybe he is the one in a thousand. Good luck
