I have read in all my books that laxatives are safe to use in moderation during pregnancy. I don't want to bother my dr and my next appt is in a week. Have any of you ladies taken it during pregnancy with the ok from your dr? I have also tried all the fiber rich foods along with fruits and veggies....it just isn't working! Thanks for your help.

Try taking a metamucil suppliment before you go with the harsh chemical laxatives. If taken for a few days, your system should be moving again.

I don't think laxatives are very safe during pregnancy. You can call your doctor's office and ask to speak to an advice nurse.. she will be happy to answer your question. What always worked for me during my pregnancies..was.. a warm cup of water with some lemon..FIRST THING IN THE MORNING. sometimes I would put a little bit of honey or sugar and it wasn't bad.. It worked really good. GOOD LUCK!

you can take over the counter laxatives. I had prescription of co lace, my insurance did not cover this. They did not cover it because you can get it over the counter. Read the labels, find a good one and call your nurse or talk to the pharmacy at the store for advice.

I have asked my Doctor about this... I am 36 weeks pregnant. I was advised to take Colace tablets. I got mine from Wal Mart. Good Luck!

Get some glycerin suppositories. They are safe during pregnancy.

You might want to try asking your doctor, they may be able to suggest something more safe for you to take while pregnant.

Good luck!

I have ALOT of problems with mine as well and I asked MY doctor and he told me it was fine as LONG as I was NOT over doing them because they still take so much from your body! BEST WISHES
