I got a new HDD (hard drive) in a few days ago. And I was talking to someone, and we got to talking about how to make a boot disk, but they said they couldnt remember how to make one. So I turn my question to the geniuses at Yahoo Answers. I really hope someone can help me here. I have Windows XP if that is needed for any reason. Thank you.

Well thanks, but I have been told by one of my Comp teachers that it is impossible to make a boot disk without the Windows XP disc itself. And we dont have that disc. Since XP came on the computer to begin with. Anybody willing to help me on that?

XP uses what they call ASR or Automated System Restore wizard and you should make an ASR Disk on a new system once everything is properly installed. That way if you need to restore your system from a crash, you use ASR disk. Also, you can boot from your original CD (I think).
