I had a colposcopy done and the results showed a high grade lesion suggesting carcinoma-in-situ. I know that is a very serious precancer. I have to go for a cone biopsy?? I am curious if anyone knows the survival rate for cervical cancer if that is indeed what the biopsy shows. Also does having a hysterectomy cure cervical cancer?? It is an option for me depending on the cone biopsy results??

It's pre-cancer, another name for it is displasia. I had severe displasia and had a hysterectomy. I could have had a conectomy where they just cut out a bunch of you in the shape of a cone. I choice the sure thing. Been cancer free30 years. I know someone who just got that cone surgery and she has had to get it again because it came back!! There is no assurance if you get that done. Love yourself and get the hysterectomy
