A ton of rock is usually a little less than1 cubic yard. I cubic yard is 27 cubic feet so figure a ton to be about 19 cubic feet. now depending on how thick you spread it. 1" =228s/f, 2"=114s/f, 3" =76s/f, 4"=57s/f,

It depends on how deep you want the rocks? Typically, it is about 3"-4" deep. Basically you need to take the area X depth to get your cubic feet. Then take your cubic feet and convert it to cubic yards. You'll then need to know the density of the material you are using. Then of course a ton is 2000 lbs. I won't get into the math b/c it even confuses me. Basically, 1 ton of gravel appx. 4" in depth will cover about 143 square feet. Hope this helps. Remember your variables.

Thats hard to determine as you didnt say what size rock but a ton of rock is about 3/4 cubic yard so you can work it out from there.

A ton will cover 100 sq ft with a 2" depth. For a 3" depth you'd need 1 yard or 3000 lbs. Have fun.
