I see so many anti God people on here from the left who just hate the mention of God. What happened in your life to make you hate God or the concept of religion. I'm curious!

I do not hate God, I am a child of God and believe in him, the idea that those who claim to be Christians, like Ann Coulter calling the 9-11 widows harlots, which Ann is clearly Babylon come again herself, or possibly the anti-Christ , take your pick, George W. Bush hides behind a veil of Christendom while invading and destroying a country and the innocent people there, as the person responsible for 9-11 Osama (not Saddam) is free to hide on the Afghanistan, Pakistan border, training new Taliban terrorists who intend to harm the US,,,, I don't think God sent Bush in the wrong direction, I think he is misguided, using his crusade for profit and greed, and dividing the American people for a political advantage, pandering to his followers who are weak minded and live in the fear he speaks, using Gods name.

I'm agnostic.
Raised catholic, tried Hindu, Buddhist and earth religions. Wife tried Muslim, baptist and Hindu.
I don't hate god. I don't know God. From what I've read, the God of Abraham is a narcissist. Has rage issues also.
Jesus was the ultimate sage masochist. Remember me by ceremoniously converting your food and drink into my flesh and cannibalize me.
I choose not to have a faith due to the fact that none strike me as being logical, but all wish to deter thought or reduce thought into structured limits by accepting some concept as being divine.

I'm from the left and I dont hate God, I seriously dislike religion. I am extremely spiritual. I don't like religion because it's someone else's interpretation of God foisting their beliefs upon me...whereas I can talk to God firsthand and make my own interpretations. What's wrong with that?

First, the worst atrocities in man's history are propagated in the name of religion or as a result of some kind of divine right that the perpetrators claim to have.......the crusades, jihad, spanish inquisition, KKK, nazi' Germany, 9/11, Jewish expulsions in Europe...if religion is the root of all this hatred, there must be something seriously wrong with it. Money and power cannot touch religion in its power to make people insane......
Also, if all of this is "god's will", then I agree with Brian L, we need to constitute a court immediately and try him/her/it with crimes agst humanity with the punishment being absolute and total banishment from the mind of man/woman/child/dog..........

The total hypocrisy of religion makes it impossible for me to believe it. The fact that for centuries with clergy used religion to keep control of the masses. The way christianity and some other religions indicate that women shoujld be treated. The list goes on and on.

I gave up believing in the boggie man and santa claus so why should I believe in GOD ? If he came to earth just for the sake of argument, I would personally charge him as the worst mass murderer in history. wasn't he the one who drowned everyone on earth?wasn't he the one who destroyed the cities of Sodom and Gomorrah makes Saddam seem like a saint. Then I would bust him for allowing all these different religions and not holding his disciples accountable when they started murdering in his name. I think by now you get my point of view I DON"T WORSHIP INVISIBLE MASS MURDERING DEITIES THATS WHY I'M AN ATHEIST I GREW UP!!!!!!
