gummo was pretty bizarre...
Attack of the killer tomatoes... meh... bizarre premise maybe...
never saw takashi miike or whatever it was...
and for the rest... lol... donnie darko? sigh... you may as well call a disney flick bizarre...
Let's see...
I think Orlando was the movie that just flipped my mind around so many times I was ready to cry uncle for guessing the end. Of course the person who portrays the main character is much more well known now... so it takes a lot of the flavor out.
Rocky Horror Picture Show.... that movie beats Attack of the Killer tomatoes for bizarre premises. It could honestly be the MOST bizarre movie of all time. I mean, Meatloaf for dinner, the galaxy of transsexual, Frankenstein monster created as a sex toy... i mean come on. Oh wait, and it's a musical!!!!
Cannibal the Musical... nuf said
Buckaroo Banzai...
And I suppose for good measure throw in anything monty python... it's meant to be humor... but it is bizarre.

I haven't seen Gummo but I think the weirdest movie for me is A Clockwork Orange. Donnie Darko's weird too but I liked it.

Admittedly Gummo was pretty out there but check out The Brown Bunny. It brings a whole new meaning to weird.

Never seen Gummo. Who stars in it? I would have to say The Cell with Jennifer Lopez or American Beauty. Didn't even finish watching either of them because they were just too weird.

Did not see Gummo, but here's my vote: El Topo by Alejandro Jodorowsky. Very bizarre. Hope you have a strong stomach.
El Topo (The Mole) is a 1970 allegorical, cult western movie and underground film, directed by and starring Alejandro Jodorowsky. Characterized by its bizarre characters and occurrences, use of maimed and dwarf performers, and heavy doses of Christian symbolism and Eastern philosophy, the film is about the eponymous character - a violent, black-clad gunfighter - and his quest for enlightenment.

Gummo was pretty weird.
I've seen hundreds and hundreds of movies. The NUMBER ONE most bizarre and absurd movie ever made is definately ERASERHEAD! No other movie compares to the oddness and total absurdity of this movie.

There are a few really good ones already listed, Donnie Darko, Eraserhead, The Dark Backward....All very good very bizzare films...
Here's one that no one has mentioned yet...It is a definate MUST SEE for those who haven't.
CLOSETLAND
Stars: Allen Rickman, Madeline Stowe
They are they only two people in the entire film. It all takes place in one room. Allen plays a government agent who is interogating Madeline. She plays a childrens author who is being accused of writing subversive story's in an attempt to overthow the government. Excellent fim, incredible acting, twisted plot. I guarantee you won't be bored.

Gummo is fantastically weird, but I think the original weird film has to be Stanley Kubrick's 'Clockwork Orange', which he actually tried to ban once released. It's a very strange film but culturally very significant.
