i have been breeding guppies for allmost a year now, i use to move the females form my comunaty tank to my nursery tank to give birth but this meant that i could only have to waite untill the fry were big enough to go to the shop, or my big tank if i kept a few unill i could put another pregnant female in. because of this i decieded to get a fish breeder but i am haveing troble with it.
when i put the pregnant female in, i only get one or two babys in the bottom or when i check on them the female is no longer pregnant and i have no babies so i assume she ate them befor they fell through to the bottom. i have read the instructions and im following them to the letter with no results.
so could any ony who has used breeders befor please give me some advise.

I have bought a couple of different types of breeder/fry boxes and I found that with one in particular, the fry were able to escape through the slats in the bottom making the thing useless unless I put it directly into my nursery.

Ther are a few things you can do,you can remove the mother as soona s she has given birth or use plants for the tiddlers to hide, there are a few different types of breeders these days so try another. It really is hit and miss you need to watch the pregnant one like a hawk until she drops then get her seperated.

first of all I deplore the staining of fish and calling them glofish. Secondly they are not getting pregnant. They lay eggs. 0.33 I wold not at all use a fish breeder internet. Fish breeders do not use them to reproduce fish.

I have never used Breeders, I make sure I have plenty plants, especially Java moss, then the young go and hide in it, keeping away from mother. Also make sure you use Aquarian Salt, Live Bearers need the salt and read the dosage instructions

Do put some plant materials in the breeder with her. This will give the babies a little cover until they fall through the crack.
